F-86 Refurb thread

Less popular but still relevant Classic Jets include the Folland Gnat and Fouga CM-170 (Magister) and many, many others.

F-86 Refurb thread

Well, the time has come. We have let what little sanity our wives thought we had slip through our fingers, and have begun the process of refurbing the F-86. To compound this lunacy, we are going to be going through the T-bird as well!

I thought some of you might like to take a peek at the haps up here in Bozeman.

We are stripping...paint, you perverts.

L. drop tank almost stripped, I should have it done tomorrow.

L. wing tip. Notice the red paint? Near as we can figure, this wing was slated to be used on a drone at some point. However, it was mated to a Mark VI fuselage instead. BTW, this is the 6:3 hard wing (read: slats are for pussies).

I'll keep the pics updated as we make progress. And of course, it almost goes without saying, we could use some more STRIPPERS!

Not that kind...

We'd definitely like to have it up and ready for Reno. The T-bird should be sporting a new paint scheme by then as well.
