91.531 Second in Command Exemptions
Sep 12, 2012 - Earlier this year, a revised interpretation of 14 CFR, 91.531 (Second in Command requirements) led the FAA to suspend single-seat, jet warbird rating, check rides. Many of our MiG, Sabre and other pilots are affected.
14 CFR, 91.531 contains a paragraph in which the Administrator can grant exemptions, and recently, EAA/Warbirds of America petitioned for and received an exception from 14 CFR, 91.531(a)(1) to the extent necessary to allow its members to operate large airplanes.
