Sep 27, 2012 - Yesterday all Afterburner subscribers received a personalized email ballot to vote for our 2013 Convention location. Initial votes are coming in and we'll keep the voting open until Oct. 5.

At issue is the difficulty of coordinating military base conventions and the declining military base attendance. Coupled with the large number of CJAA attendees at NWOC, the thought of co-locating CJAA Convention and NWOC crossed our minds.

Co-locating with NWOC adds a new dimension to our Convention - It brings together prop, jet, and bomber operators, is regularly attended by FAA representatives, and is always filled with interesting presentations and museum tours. The plan would be to conduct the CJAA Convention, focusing on jet issues, the day before NWOC. Members advocating this plan like one travel and one hotel reservation. The downside to NWOC is a higher cost, and this year's location, Seattle, isn't exactly a garden spot in late-February.
